巴莫阿依,中央民族大学教授、博士,国家民族事务委员会国际司副司长。1982年毕业于中央民族大学哲学系,1991年获文学博士学位;1996-1997年美国华盛顿大学人类学系博士后研究,2000-2001年美国哈佛大学访问学者。曾在在中国西南彝族、纳西族地区和日本东北部和美国西雅图做田野调查;从要从事宗教学和彝族宗教文化的教学与研究工作。出版个人专著《彝族祖灵信仰研究》、《彝人的信仰世界——凉山彝族宗教生活田野报告》、合译《田野中的族群关系与民族认同》,合著《彝族文化史》、《彝族风俗志》等。在《世界宗教研究》、《民族研究》、《宗教学研究》、《民族艺术》、《比较民俗学》(日本)、《美中社会与文化》(美国)等刊物上发表论文和调查报告60余篇。


About the author:
  Bamo Ayi is a Nuosu from Yuexi County of Liangshan, received her Ph. D. in Tibetan-Burmese Linguistics with a distinction in Yi Writing System and Religious Scriptures from Central University for Nationalities in 1991; Post Ph. D. in Anthropology of University of Washington in Seattle (1996-1997); Visiting Scholar Harvard-Yenching Institute at Harvard University in Cambridge (2000-2001). She serves as Deputy Director General of International Department at State Ethnic Affairs Commission and Professor of Religion Studies in Department of Philosophy and Religion of Central University for Nationalities in Beijing. She conducted fieldwork in Yi and Naxi aeras of southwest China, as well as in northwest Japan and west America. She is the author of The Study of Yi Ancestral Worship: An Investigation on Nousu's Ritual and Interpretation of the Ritual Books”(1994) and “The Yi World of Religion: Field Reports on the Religious Life of the Yi of Lianshan”(2004), and her Chinese translation from Stevan Harrell’s works titled“Field Studies of Ethnic Identity: Yi Communities of Southwest China”(2000) has come to Chinese readers' view. Her many essays, field reports, and papers appeared in a wide spectrum of journals in and out China.
